Job Role

General Responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent transport operative who can provide excellent support to our Pallet Track operation in Lyonshall.

This role will require knowledge of logistics or distribution. You will demonstrate strong administration skills ensuring that Burgoynes is well organised, compliant and continues to succeed through our growth. Using Vigo software you will be required to scan all consignments received and dispatched from our depot updating the Pallet Track web system as to the location of the goods. Inputting Jobs onto the System from our customer base to ensure their freight is accepted into the network. Routing our delivery vehicles in an efficient cost effective manner and then re-routing back to Lyonshall collecting our customers freight en-route.

A strong local geographical knowledge is essential for this role.

To ensure that Pallet Track achieves its goals in delivering and collecting palletized freight in a timely manner.

Working Hours

40 Hours per week to cover the operational period of 07:00-18:30. Working alternate weekly shifts of 07:00-16:00 and 09:30-18:30. Flexibility and additional hours may be required to fulfil our network obligations.

Reports to:

  • Pallet Track Manager

Specific Responsibilities

This role will require you to undertake:

Answer incoming calls within 5 rings and distribute accordingly

Full use of the Pallet Track Web system and Vigo software programmes.

  • Route and return our delivery vehicles in an efficient manner without compromising the legality of the vehicles.
  • Plan loads to our main operational hub without compromising the legality of the vehicles.
  • Daily interaction with our customer base ensuring all freight is collected, entered into the network & delivered on time.
  • Fully investigating customer issues and responding to these in a timely professional manner.
  • Invoice customers in a timely manner and return their signed Proof of Delivery notes.
  • Correct administration of customer orders and other paperwork.
  • Undertake warehouse functions of stock selection for specific customer requirements.
  • Any other duties required and directed by management.
  • Provide spot pricing for customer enquiries
